For further information, please feel free to contact the Chairman: Cell : 072 435 0902
The Black Panther Ice-Skating Club (BPISC) is
the largest (350 members) and most successful ice-skating club in South
Africa. The club is a member of the South African Figure Skating Association
and our Synchronized Team competed as
the South African Novice champions. We now have an introductory team as a
first step toward joining the Western Province squad. The past President, Fatima Khan, started the club in 1975 to further the interests of figure skating in the Western Cape and to provide the community, especially the youth with a creative outlet and interest. For the last ten years we have been sponsoring 12 skaters from the S.O.S. Village in Thornton by giving them free figure-skating lessons. The BPFSC has 10 committee members and an army of enthusiastic parents. The club has competed with success nationally and internationally. A number of solo skaters who began their skating careers with our club have won many solo, dance and synchronized national titles, and have also competed in international competitions in Belgium, Croatia, Italy, London and France. |
