BLACK PANTHERS

BLACK PANTHERS SYNCHRONIZED ICE SKATING TEAM

OUR SUCCESS
The Black Panther Ice-Skating Club (BPISC) Synchronized Team are currently the South African Novice champions.

The team has competed with success nationally and internationally.
The BPISC have won the South African National Championships every year from 1994 to 2002 with the exception of 1997, when came second. We have also traveled to Europe four times, thrice to France and once to London. In 1995, the team won the Precision Skating Competition in France, competing against a number of experienced European teams.

OUR PROBLEM
For many years, the club did not have the funds to travel overseas, and lost valuable experience. In 2000, they managed to travel to Europe to compete again, but returned without any trophies - a clear indication that they need to keep up with international standards by attending international competitions. As the international opportunities for our country's sportsmen and women are increasing, so the challenge to reach greater heights increases.

OUR NEEDS
Our team consists of 24 skaters between the ages of eight and fourteen, a professional coach, assistant coach and team manageress.
The costs of sending a group like this internationally are prohibitive as they include all the airfares, accommodation and meals, team uniforms, and so on. Especially as 70 percent of the team are from previously disadvantaged communities, you can well imagine that these costs are beyond the means of the club and the individual skaters.

YOUR BENEFITS AS A SPONSOR
Benefits of sponsorship to your company would include having your logo prominently displayed both locally and at the international competition.

The club has a quarterly bulletin, which is sent to 500 people, and plans are in place to develop a website. Your company would get exposure in both of these media, as well as in any press release that are released to local and regional newspaper.

The "Ice Station", Ice-Skating Rink, at the Grand West Casino and Entertainment Centre, where our club trains, is surrounded by restaurants whose patrons have a good view of training sessions. During the Sunday training sessions, half of the ice rink is made available to the general public, thus offering further exposure of sponsor's logo to a wide range of people.

But, of course, the major benefit would be knowing that you are part of an amazing success story and helping Cape Town's youth strive for and achieve their dreams.
Please contact us to sponsor our worthy need!
